Thankfully yours.

As we end off 2021 we would like to send a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who has helped us get through the year.

April 1st will be year 3 of being a single mum and these boys of mine are complete superstars. They have made this transition so much easier and I have seen an incredible growth and freedom in each of them.

This year Joe turned 16, Jesse 15 and Hudson 7. Parenting teens has been interesting and I am thankful that these 2 are handling their teens so much better than I did 😀 We have had a couple of ups and downs but we are facing them head on and together and we are all doing really well. And as for Hudson he is a complete delight. 😍

Work has been interesting this year, there has been a lot of heartache and pain when it comes to our eXpose HOPE ladies. So much loss has had our team broken and at times discouraged, but we keep pushing forward because our sex industry friends are so worth it.

One very encouraging development has been our partnership with Joyce Meyer Ministries. We met with a number of their Cape Town team and also with Dave Meyer, Joyce’s son. After hearing our story and dream for the charity, and after coming on outreach with us to see our work in person, they decided that eXpose HOPE would be an organization that they would like to get behind and support. JMM provided us with our own charity vehicle and fuel costs, and they are also covering our weekly meals for our ladies. Not only that but we have also partnered with Domino Foundation and together with JMM we will be opening a safe house in the new year. That safe house will be open to our ladies who are escaping the sex industry and those who are victims of sex trafficking. This has been our prayer for years now and we are beyond thankful and excited to watch this dream become reality. To have JMM stand with us and believe in our team and our work has really encouraged us to keep pushing forward in our mission. And we are excited to see this partnership grow.

This year I have been really battling with my health, Christmas and New Year I was hit with a bad bout of covid that had me in bed for almost a month. After covid I just wasn’t getting strong and I was in severe pain daily. I was eventually diagnosed with fibromyalgia and I still trying to navigate the situation and am trying to figure out what works for my constant chronic pain and all the other symptoms that I’m dealing with daily. The exhaustion and insomnia is hard, especially when parenting 3 kids, but the boys have been amazing and are incredibly understanding and helpful. I’m so thankful for them and who they are.

We would like to thank everyone who has helped us to survive another year here in South Africa. Thank you to those who have financially supported us, so generously, you have kept the boys in school and a roof over our head, you have put food in our tummies and clothes on our bodies. YOU!! Your love and prayers have kept us lifted up and encouraged to keep going. We love and appreciate you all so very much ❤

I pray that you all have a magical, joy filled Christmas and New Year. I pray that you are blessed in your coming and your going. I pray for abundance over your family and peace in your hearts.

Thank you for loving the boys and I so well.

Thankfully yours

Vash, Joe, Jess and Hudsie. Xxxx

Ticket home.

Yesterday was a good good day. The folks at @lincchurch blessed us with 250 buckets full of groceries for our @xpose.hope ladies.
There were squeals of delight and tears of joy as each received their bucket.
🖤

These buckets are way more than just a bucket of groceries, they are a ticket home to family for Christmas. You see our ladies are told by family that if they ever want to visit they have to take gifts, money or groceries with them, they are not welcome home empty handed. This causes so much stress and pain for our ladies. And it causes them to hustle that much harder, trying to find more clients and putting their lives at greater risk.
When they opened their buckets yesterday the realization that they could be home for Christmas washed over them and the tears flowed. It was beautiful and devastating all at the same time.
🖤

Massive thanks to Linc Church for the buckets and also to @dominofoundation Red Light team for joing us in outreach and helping to love on our girls. We love and appreciate you guys so much.

Molly

We first met “Molly” when she was sleeping on the street and heavily pregnant by a “client” at the age of 15.
She was a runaway and spent her days with other homeless teens, hustling and turning clients in order to survive.
Needless to say we were VERY concerned for her and her unborn child. Thankfully she was not using drugs and was planning on returning to her family home to live with her older sister (the only family she now has left).
One Thursday night we went to check on her and the others and she was gone, managed to save money and had taken a bus home.
🖤
Skip forward 8 months and last week we found Molly and baby back with her friends on the street. She had come to visit and check on everyone and had not been able to get together the R150 to get back home. So we made the decision to get her home asap. She needed to return home with nappies and groceries for the sister, otherwise she was not welcome home. 😒
So we managed to get a heap of nappies for baby and thanks to generous donors we had groceries for Molly to take home.
🖤
On Wednesday night we told Molly that we would come and get her on Friday and put her in a taxi and pay for her ticket home.
When we pulled up in the alley where she has been sleeping with baby and the other kids she literally danced and jumped for joy when she saw us. She ran to Liza and hugged her and they went to get baby and her belongings. We then took her to the taxi rank and paid for her seat and for an extra seat for her belongings and gifts from us. Her sweet baby boy suckling at her breast as he slept, so calm and peaceful, so healthy and happy. We are incredibly proud of how well Molly is caring for her son, she is so young herself and yet she is parenting her son like a champion.
🖤

Molly didn’t believe that we were going to come for her. She has been let down her entire life by adults. Used and abused. Cast aside.
But we keep our promises and when she realized that we were there for them her whole person became filled with tangible, visible joy and excitement.
🖤
Molly is why we do what we do. Molly is why we keep our word. Molly is why we do whatever we can when all others have walked away. Molly is just one of 100’s of girls and women that we care for. This Christmas Molly and her baby are safe, but there are 100’s across our city who are not safe, please help us to care for them. Bank and Zapper details are in the photos.

Wheels.

We have some VERY exciting news. A few weeks ago expose HOPE officially partnered with Joyce Meyer Ministries. 🖤🖤🖤 We are just so honored and blessed to have these guys in our corner fighting the good fight with us, and cheering us on. We are grateful for the accountability and spiritual support also. It’s real good.
🖤
We sat down with Brad from the Cape Town JMM office and with David and Sherry Meyer and shared our hearts and our dreams, and soon after that time together we received the most beautiful gift, this brand new VW Caddy that is now our work vehicle for outreach and all the other work our team is up to. And along with this INCREDIBLE gift they have committed to supporting our fuel and meals too!!!!
🖤
We are just blown away and incredibly grateful for this support, we definitely feel the expansion and a weight lifted in these areas now and their support is giving us the capacity to grow our work.
🖤
Words are not enough. So instead we commit to pushing forward and loving even harder. We commit to expanding into the dark places where marginalized women and girls are fighting for survival. And we will do it all with the power of Holy Love.
🖤
Thank you for believing in the work.
